Fintech South Summit 2022 provided so much great content particularly on the current innovation in Fintech and sparked much-needed conversations about how companies and emerging startups plan to navigate the industry’s future.
Vital4’s Chief Growth Officer, Amy Barbieri, had the opportunity to moderate a panel about how heightened scrutiny affects payment providers and consumers. Head of Global Compliance for Mambu, Radika Lipton, and SVP Head of Payments of Product for FedNow with Federal Reserve Atlanta Bank, Dan Baum, both shared their insight on the regulatory landscape for payment providers and shared some interesting predictions on what is to come. Lipton and Baum also provided information regarding the role of regulators and how they can help improve the experience for providers and customers.
During the discussion, the panelists highlighted the acceleration of Fraud due to the digital transformation and what protections and vulnerabilities look like for consumers regarding digital payments. This is an important ongoing discussion as there are risks that need to be accounted for when working with providers like Venmo and Cashapp.
The panelists also discussed trends towards BNPL (Buy Now, Pay Later) and other alternative payment methods and how current regulations seek to better protect the consumer.
During the Conference, the 2022 ADVANCE award winners were announced! This award highlights innovative U.S. fintech companies with ties to Georgia.
